Description

Andalusia with its culture, history and good weather during most of the year is an amazing option to explore by bike. We will have the chance to explore an incredible historic architecture, the cradle of flamenco and beautiful landscapes with fields, mountains and beaches.

 

  • Day: 1 - Arrival to Sevilla

    A full day to visit Sevilla, the capital of Andalusia. This city is a must stop in southern Spain because of the mix of history, culture and folklore.

  • Day: 2 - Sevilla - Carmona (50 km)

    We will ride out of the city by cycle lanes. Later we will reach Guadaría river, wich will lead us towards Carmona cycling through cereal and sunflower fields and small towns. Carmona is a town with an impressive historic architecture that has palaces, churches and walls. We stay at the Alcazar, a really historic construction now rebuilded as a Parador.

  • Day: 3 - Carmona - Montellano (68 km)

    Today we have a long but flat cycle. We will cycle through plains full of sunflowers, olive trees and small towns will be with us throughout the day.

  • Day: 4 - Montellano - Arcos de la Frontera (56 km)

    We approach the mountains of  Grazalema and we will ride through small hills and a beautiful mediterranean ancient forest. Quiet roads and the Via Verde (an old train railway line restored for cycling) take us to Arcos de la Frontera. In the way we will stop for lunch in Puerto Serrano, a traditional andalusian town. Arcos de la Frontera is a historic town built on the top of impressive cliffs.

  • Day: 5 - Arcos de la Frontera - Jerez de la Frontera (56 km)

    From Arcos we will follow a hilly road along the Guadalete river. The landscape is made of agricultural lands and mediterranean forests with some small towns where we can have a nice break. Jerez is considered as the cradle of flamenco. In Jerez we can enjoy one of the best known wines in Spain. You will be able to visit one of the many wineries and taste some sherry.

  • Day: 6 - Jerez de la Frontera - Cádiz (62 km)

    Today we will reach the sea at Puerto de Santa María where we can start enjoying the coastal gastronomy. Our ride finishes in Cádiz, the most ancient town in western Europe. The history, gastronomy and beaches make Cádiz a perfect destination.

  • Day: 7 - Return

    A bus will take the group straight to the airport. It's possible to book extra nights in Cádiz or Sevilla.
